Hi and thank you for your kind words. We started this as a “bucket list” and my son who’s ridden on his cycle once from Halifax to Texas and twice from Vancouver to Texas in a relay group to raise monies for Cancer, reminded me ( as son’s do) that I needed to do this for a cause and not my own self gain. He was absolutely right and my heart always goes out to sick children. Since I had an engine and he had 2 peddles, I really realized what a gift it was to have the “freedom” of choice and the ” health ” to do it.

I personally wanted to set an example to my grand daughters to fulfill their dreams, but to do it for a cause. I also am proud of my son…for the ever so gentle reminder that ” integrity and giving to others” is what we taught him and for a moment I had forgotten and had become focussed on ” my dream”….when it always needs to be shared.

Pass it along….and much joy to you

Good luck with your homework and let’s hope that is an A+ because the nicest gift you can give yourself is a good education so you can help others and you have the income to sustain your dreams. Ev

Merry Xmas to you and here’s to safe riding for 2014
It’s been a while since I was on here to update, but somehow one of the special Xmas gifts, is some free time from the daily grind to unwind and reflect. Your words of support are truly appreciated and thanks for stopping by. Old Yellar is safely stored in the garage with her blanket and come spring time, she’ll ride again!

I had set up the site to simply keep touch with my family, allow them to know I was safe on America’s highways and to track our journey. It allowed people along the way to provide support to Children’s wish and it kept it interesting posting from the road. I’ve kept it going, in hopes on doing another road trip….now it’s the matter of finding the time!

All the best to you and who knows…maybe it’ll be an inspiration to other women to ” set out on the highway and fulfill their dreams”. All it takes is a bike, a friend, summer vacation and the wind in your face…and a little hard earned cash…but do it for a ’cause” and to me nothing is more endearing than ” children’s wish foundation”, no matter which side of the border you ride on……

Need a bike? My Dad who’s 83 now has his 500 Kawasaki low rider for sale. She’s old and she’s in “mint” condition! Last year he and I took one final ride together! Who says you can’t ride to your 80’s. He’s been riding since he feel in love with his 650 BSA….

Glad to have helped out! Women on wheels and children who are sick are two simply passions and put them together and you have ride2live. Freedom of the road. Stay in school, get great grades and then you can afford to live your dreams and help others. Don’t get sidetracked.

Best wishes
